Police Officer Trainee - Entry Level Police Officer
Prior to beginning the testing process, please:

Read this information thoroughly:

  • You may attend any test date listed below.
  • Do not turn your application to the police department or human resources.
  • Bring your completed application and an attached photocopy of your driver's license to the test location.
  • Bring your driver's license to the test location for check-in.
  • Allow six to eight hours for the testing process
  • Dress in clothing appropriate for running an obstacle course.
  • Late arrivals will not be admitted.

Applicants must remain with their testing groups throughout the process.

Applicants that do not pass the written or physical abilities test must wait 3 months before applying for this position again.
Applicants should be aware that the Whittier Police Department maintains a tattoo policy which requires they be covered while on-duty.  Further information is available by contacting the recruitment officer at (562) 945-8286.

Continuous recruitment with written and physical test waived
If you graduated from a police academy more than six months ago and are not employed by a law enforcement agency, you must apply as entry-level.
